The Betty TK1 Chairwas designed by Jakob Thau and Sami Kallio for the brand &Tradition.
Thau and Kallio hail from Denmark and Finland respectively, and create furniture which harnesses industrial techniques, yet also retains an expressive nature. With the Betty range, the duo chose to create items inspired by the Betty Nansen Theatre in Copenhagen, incorporating a sense of drama and theatricality which gives each chair a unique visual appeal. And they did so for &Tradition - one of Denmark's premier furniture labels.
The Betty TK1 Chairdebuted in 2019, has an attractive grid pattern on its seat. Made from a mix of form-pressed veneer and natural wood, it stands 77cm tall, 51cm wide, and 48cm deep, while the seat is raised 46cm from the floor. The form of the chair is Traditional, with a four-legged design, and is also fully stackable, so storing a Betty TK1 Chair collection won't be hard. Finally, the seat is made from linen webbing, adding an element of softness which allows users to relax as they work, dine or socialise. Taking its cue from theatrical furnishings, it is a beautifully proportioned and highly practical option for anyone's home.
